Wow, I was getting dangerously close to becoming a dead friend! But, in true Jack Bauer style, I will rescue my blog from the brink of death!
Times here at Loma have been crazy my friends! I wish I could say it has been a social crazy, like me meeting a ton of new people and hanging out with them a lot and have a crazy time in general but of course that isn't the type of crazy I mean. I'm talking about school and volleyball being crazy of course! Wow, do I sound like a broken record or what? I feel like that is always what I'm saying.
So I went to the hospital for the first time on Thursday and it was really cool. The nurses and CNA's are all nice and want to help you learn. My patient was a nice Mexican lady and she just had major surgery so her incision dressing looked really awesome.
On Wednesday night I go to the hospital to pick out my patient for the next day. Once I find a good patient I ask for their permission to care for them the next day and then I have to write down a crapload of information about them (e.g. meds, prior medical/surgical history, diagnosis, etc.) and then go home and do my write-up which is about 10-12 pages. Oh yeah. So here's how the night went. Got to the hospital at 4:30, left the hospital at 6:30, got home at 7 and started the write-up at 8, went to bed at 2:00am, and then got up to go to the hospital at 4:30am! And I get to do it again this week!!!
I know you are all probably tired of hearing all of this political crap that is going around. "Palin says she can see Russia from her house. People are only voting for Obama because he's black. McCain looks creepy when he smiles...." yadda yadda yadda. A little note before I give you this link... Of course I don't think all of Obama fans are like the ones you will hear here. Allyse's mom sent her this, she shared it with me, and I'd like to share it with you. It's a snippet from Howard Stern's radio show.
